Q:

What is the difference between CO2 and high pressure air/nitrogen?

A:

CO2 is a cold liquid that turns into a gas as a propellent. It performs best in warm weather. In cold weather it cannot expand as much and may not perform as well. Additionally, it can cause wear and tear on parts and o-rings. High pressure air or nitrogen is similar to breathing air in scuba tanks. It is room temperature and not affected by cold weather. It is more consistent to the bottom of the tank and is not hard on gun parts or o-rings.

Q:

What shoots harder CO2 or high pressure?

A:

They shoot the same due to the fact that markers regulate incoming pressure via regulators. Additionally, markers all shot 300 feet per second on regulation fields. CO2 or high pressure does not affect velocity.

Q:

My gun with a CO2 tank makes a machine gun sound and doesn’t seem to want to shoot far. What’s up with that?

A:

You are almost out of air in your tank.
